My name is Selwyn de Wind; I am from Curaçao and graduated Cum-Laude as a cameraman at the Hogeschool van Utrecht. The story of Hemayel must be told because it gives the opportunity to wake up the Curaçaoan people. That is why I fully support the film-project “Ku Amor Pa Kòrsou”. This project shows in a special way how great the socio-cultural value of Papiamento is in Curaçao. Poets such as Hemayel raise the level of the language and ensure that it continues to develop. Language is everything, everything is language.
